10 reasons why you should buy fairtrade
1.It’s empowering- the focus moves from giving aid to empowering communities to help themselves.
2.It guarantees that no child labor is used.
3.Producers are paid a fair price that covers their living costs so that they have some security, they have long-term contracts and therefore can plan ahead
4.Producers and workers are allowed to join unions and other organizations that can protect their rights and ensure that they have fair working conditions.
5.Producers get a premium (extra money on top), which they can invest in community development e.g. building schools
6.It tackles poverty by opening up markets to marginalised producers
7.It guarantees that producers in developing countries are getting a better and fair deal.
8.Consumers show they care about producers and not just about prices
9.It challenges all companies to move away from unsustainably low commodity
prices and unethical sourcing.
10.Fair trade sends a loud message to governments that the public wants justice in
all trade.

Dont be greedy: spread the LOVE!
Jesus: The greatest hero of change
Looking back through history we can see that God’s heart is overwhelmingly for the poor.
The Bible contains more than 300 verses on the poor, social justice, and God's deep concern for both.
Jesus is the advocate for the poor
The voice for the voiceless
He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing." Deuteronomy 10:18
The biographies of Jesus depict him repeatedly reaching out to those at the bottom of the social pyramid--poor people, women, Samaritans, lepers, children, prostitutes and tax collectors.
If the Lord who we serve and try to model our lives after cares so much for the poor, then so should we!
Would the world look the way it does if all believers helped the poor?
be inspired..
